It’s usual to hear something like you get what you pay for regarding string trimmers. Sometimes it’s true but not necessary always. If you can afford them, you should buy expensive outdoor power tools, that generally do their job faster and better. You lawn will look different whether you use better performance and more reliable trimmers.
String trimmers are the perfect complement for lawnmowers inside the garden. Both are together, the perfect lawn machine’s couple to work around and achieve a perfect yard, looking even better than you could imagine. Designed principally for cutting weeds, grass and light brush too.
Types of string trimmers
There are two principal types of string trimmers: Straight-shaft and curved shaft. The firsts are more powerful and comfortable, designed and though mostly for professional gardeners whose requirements are higher than simple homeowners. Straight-shaft string trimmers are highly recommended for a regular cut thick, weeds and tall grass. Curved-shaft trimmers are better for homeowners with less requirements. Why are they for homeowners? Because they are easier to handle due to their lightweight, easier to level with the ground as well as they are much less expensive.
Powered options
You have three powered ways for string trimmers to choose from:

These are the most typical around. Gas trimmers are more powerful than the other types; corded and battery. They are highly recommended for cutting weed and brush anywhere and any-size. Gas powered trimmers requires much more maintenance. These type of trimmers are really noisy and produce much air pollution.
Corded electric trimmers
The cheapest models are the corded electric powered trimmers. They offer some important facts to know, including push-button starters, no maintenance and refueling required. They are less noisy and lighter as well. The pollution emission is null and prices are quite more cheaper than other two types.
Battery powered trimmers are very similar to corded ones, but cordless. They usually can work plugging an extension cord, but the most important feature is that they can work everywhere without being plugged. They are less powerful than corded electric. Battery-powered string trimmers are principally designed for small yards or gardens, and are more expensive than corded electric string trimmers
